thanks to you
We all know that medical costs and health care are skyrocketing.  In our new custody of St. Anthony of Padua in the Philippines, a very poor custody serving the needs of many poor and homeless in the southern part of the islands, the friars experience the same high medical costs and health care difficulties for their friars.

THANKS TO YOU, the Cincinnati Franciscans of St. John the Baptist Province were able to assist the Custody of St. Anthony of Padua by sending a gift to offset significant medical bills for one of their friars. We sent this gift in your name. And I am grateful to you for your generous spirit and willingness to assist those less fortunate than we.  God bless your generosity!  We wish you peace!
Global Village
Missionary Cooperation Plan
This time of year in many dioceses through the world, parishes are asked to welcome a missionary to help connect the local Church with the universal Church.  This activity set up by Vatican guidelines is commonly known as the Missionary Cooperation Plan.  The purpose of this is to have mission religious communities/mission dioceses get an opportunity to personally appeal for prayer and financial support from Catholics as well as to get the opportunity to educate congregations about what is happening in domestic and foreign missions.  Our U.S. Catholic Bishops remind us in their statement, “Called to Global Solidarity: International Challenges for U.S. Parishes,” that action on behalf of the one human family calls us to help overcome the divisions in our world.  “Solidarity binds the rich to the poor.  It makes the free zealous for the rights of the oppressed.”
You Can Change a Life
I am so grateful for the gift of love I have seen so many times in our missionaries and in the people we serve.  I have experienced it over and over in my many years of ministry among adolescents who are emotionally disturbed.  And I have experienced love in the generous hearts of you – our faithful friends and supporters.  People come alive when they are loved!  You know what I mean because you have seen it in your own lives.

Caring for the poor is a costly venture.  Simple commodities, clothing, utilities and the overall cost of living are expensive today.  Your gift to support our Franciscan ministries helps the friars to alleviate some of these costs because of your generosity and thoughtfulness!  Your gift is a true act of love on your part.

Your continued gift or new gift in the amount of $100, $75, $50 or any amount to help us continue our ministry is a blessing to us.  We are always grateful that your gift allows us to touch so many and we are committed to continue our ministries and work among the poor and needy.  We appreciate you!

Be assured that I pray for you each day.   May the Lord give you peace!
