Welcome to the Vocation pages of our Provincial website. I believe that you will find our website
helpful and informative.
Catholics traditionally remember their deceased relatives and friends in a special way during the
whole month of November but especially on All Souls Day. We begin the month, however, by observing
All Saints Day. These two commemorations capture the mystery of our faith; namely that we are to die
and rise again in Jesus. We, of course, died and rose with Him spiritually at our baptisms, but we
are to physically die and rise at the moment of our death and the resurrection. Numberless men, women
and children have gone before us “marked with the sign of faith,” and we celebrate their
lives with joy and prayer. The list of Franciscan Saints, both men and women, is pretty impressive.
Our way of life has produced some remarkable people known for their holiness of life. As we prepare
to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the Church’s approval of the Franciscan lifestyle, we remember
them in a special way this month.
Do you feel called to join us in our Franciscan way to holiness of life? Saint Francis assures us
that if we observe our way of life to the end, God will welcome us into His Kingdom.
