Celebrating good fortune at God’s Storehouse

Last week, out of the blue, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints contacted Br. Al Mascia of the Song & Spirit Institute for Peace in Berkley, Mich. “Could you use 12 pallets of non-perishable food….soon?” they asked. Al knew just who to call: their outreach partners at God’s Storehouse food pantry in Detroit. When a semi-truck from Salt Lake City pulled up to the pantry, Al and Mary Gilhuly of Song & Spirit and volunteers of all ages were standing by to unload and fill the storehouse with the unexpected and desperately needed supplies.

See how it all unfolded.
