Congratulations to Mike Gordon who was ordained to the permanent diaconate on May 20th at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Montego Bay by Archbishop Emeritus of Kingston Charles Henry Dufour. Mike is a member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church in Orange Hill. He is the first vocation from the church. The diaconate class began with six men in 2019, and four were ordained. It was the first diaconal formation class for the Diocese of Montego Bay in 12 years.
Mike will be working with the Franciscan parishes in Western Westmoreland, particularly St. Julie Billiart and St. Mary, Revival. He is eager to visit the sick and homebound to bring them Communion, pray with them and sing songs with them to uplift their spirits.
